As you know, second grade students will be taking the ITBS (Iowa test of basic skills) the week of April 4. Our test, as of right now, is actually scheduled for Wednesday, April 6 and Thursday, April 7. Therefore, in order to better prepare our students for the test, we will focus on reviewing skills for the next three weeks (the next two weeks in March and the week after Spring Break). We will not have new spelling words the week of March 14th or the week March 28th.
Also, we will still be having homework. Skill practice pages will be coming home. Please work with your child on the skill pages each night and send them back to school to be checked on Friday. Also, during the actual week of testing we will not have homework. Your child’s homework for that week is to get a good night’s sleep, eat a good breakfast and come to school with a “can do” attitude. Thanks so very much for always working to help your child. Please note the changes to the calendar due to snow days: School will be in session on March 18, April 4 and May 31 through June 6. These are now regular student attendance days.
